Types of bhairav in Hinduism
There are major 8 types of bhairavas in Hinduism and total 64 bhairavas are Their.
Kaal bhairav is the leader of bhairavas and it is also called that bhairava is the protector of temple and womens. When temple get close key are kept in front of bhairava.
According to tantra sastra the main 8 bhairavas are -
1- Atisaang bhairav
2-Rudra bhairav
3-chandra bhairav
4-krodh bhairav
5-unamat bhairav
6-Kapali bhairav
7-bheesan bhairav
8-sanhar bhairav
According to kalika purana bhairava is one of the gana of Lord shiva like nandi , mahakal , vetal , veerbhadra etc.
